Education is a elemental human right and essential for all other human rights. It is a powerful tool by which socially and economically marginalized children and adults can lift themselves out of poverty. It also consists of the right to freedom of education. Freedom of education is the right given to human beings to have access to the education of their preference without any constrictions. Right to education is a human right recognized by the United Nations. It includes the entire compulsion to eliminate inequity at all levels of the educational system. Professional and technical education should be made generally available. ï‚ § Education should promote friendship, understanding and tolerance among all nations, religious or racial groups, and the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace. It should be intended for the improvement of the human personality. It should be directed to the strengthening of respect for human rights and freedoms. ï‚ § All the parents have a right to decide the type of education that shall be given to their children. The right to education is also reaffirmed by the 1st Protocol of ECHR, 1981 Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and also the 1960 UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Convention against Discrimination in Education.
